My Philosophy and Ethics

There is a wealth of applications and styles of Hypnotherapy and complimentary methods of Psychotherapeutic approaches being offered on the market today. As an individual, I have always believed in the importance of education, credibility, and transparency. Anybody who stands in a position of influence to others has a responsibility to make sure that the information and service they deliver is done so with the audiences best interests. Not only this but the information should be correct and valid holding a duty of care to those that they treat. Therefore, my methods are based purely on scientific and psychological research and evidence in the field of Cognitive Behavioural Hypnotherapy.

My qualifications as a Cognitive Behavioural Hypnotherapist are accredited by the General Hypnotherapy Register, National Council for Hypnotherapy, Register for Evidence-Based Hypnotherapy and Psychotherapy and approved by the British Psychological Society.

Originally a professional dancer/singer/actor working on West End UK Tours, Luxury Cruise Liners and numerous Professional contracts. After working in professional theatre I moved into the education sector and have worked in numerous positions as a: Teacher, Head of Department, Head of House and Consultant. One of the key elements of working in education is not about qualifications, but people. Guiding, supporting, influencing, and inspiring people to achieve the goals that they want to in their lives.

I have encountered many different types of pressures in my life. The intense and highly competitive performing arts industry, auditioning with thousands of people for that one role. Years of intense physical training and conditioning, requiring mental strength where constant criticism comes with the job. The education sector with its high volume of administration, paperwork and deadlines and my relationships with family and friends, brings with it its own dynamics and responsibilities. I say this, not in a negative way, but as an acknowledgement that as individuals we should recognise our roles and responsibilities in order to deal with them in a healthy way.

We never truly know what people think or how they feel, and we have more of an influence on people than we ever fully realise.  Asking a colleague at work if they are ok, taking out a loved one for a coffee and chat or even just smiling at someone. Our actions have the power to influence others in both positive and negative ways. Using researched scientific and psychological therapies allow us take control of how we interpret the world around us and how to respond in a healthy and rational manner.

Gone are the days of laying on a couch, cathartically recounting your concerns to an intense looking therapist who nods and occasionally says ‘hmmm…interesting’. To educate individuals on how to better themselves through evidenced-based rational, logical and healthy thought processes is extremely rewarding and something that can change their lives.

We all need help and support at times, some more than others, but it is always important to remember that you CAN make a change in your life, and you CAN make a change to yourself. It is never too late to enjoy the life that you want to enjoy and have the existence that you want to have.

The question is ‘Are you ready to make that change and live the life that you want?’
